If the idea of wearing twenty thousand honeybees as a living beard sounds like your kind of adventure, this experience was made for you. In just a short time, you will carefully craft your very own “bee beard,” as thousands of bees gather on your chest and chin, giving you that unmistakable five-o’clock-shadow buzz.
Expect to spend about 60 to 90 minutes in the bee yard, surrounded by live bees. A layer of vaseline will be applied to protect the skin (alternative options can be discussed), and a specially designed bee-resistant shirt will be available if preferred. While a few stings are possible, the number will be minimized through careful handling and calm hive management.
Once the beard is set, the moment is yours! You can invite a friend to capture your big moment. Your clothes may carry the light scent of smoke afterward, used to keep the bees relaxed.
This is a 'must do' for new beekeepers and a good test for adrenaline junkies!
As preparation is involved, this experience must be purchased ahead of time and we will not be able to offer it as a walk in experience. In case of rain or poor weather, the event will be rescheduled to a mutually convenient date.
